Farm House is a renovation project researching an old housing typology in an agricultural context. Bordering on the edge of a small town, the existing house and it's large garden face pressure of demolotion and high density redevelopment.
The plot and it's existing house will become a closing piece of the urban village fabric, facing the open, rural landscape. Small extensions rescale the large house into three smaller ones, which results in a higher density while remaining the scale of a single house facing the agricultural fields and it's farms.
Intervening with the architectural typologies of a porch, column, canopy, wall, ... allows the existing structure to be transformed into three interacting houses. These interventions fundamentally reshape the existing building in it's organisation and allow each inhabitant to find all necessary spaces: covered, open, intimate, common, ...
